Addison Fischer is a visionary pioneer in technology and cybersecurity, whose contributions have left a lasting impact on the digital world as we know it today. His work in security began in the 1970s when he launched his first high-tech startup, developing the “Top Secret” IBM mainframe security software, an innovation that set the stage for his distinguished career.

In 1981, Addison founded Fischer International Systems Corporation, a communications software company serving Global 2000 enterprises, where he continues to serve as Chairman. Under his leadership, the company produced industry-leading solutions such as TAO, Watchdog, EMC2, TapeStream, and IOF, setting new standards for security and innovation.

Addison served as an active member of several official ANSI committees that set U.S. standards for commercial computer security (ANSI X9) and electronic commerce (ANSI X12). He also addressed the U.S. Congress by invitation on key issues such as digital signature standards, proposed FBI digital telephony legislation, and global U.S. competitiveness.

Throughout the 1990’s, he served on the Computer Systems Security and Privacy Advisory Board (now the Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board), where he contributed to national discussions on topics ranging from privacy to cyber-warfare.

Addison’s influence reached far beyond his own companies. He became a principal owner of RSA Data Security, a key force in shaping modern cybersecurity. He also co-founded Verisign, a foundational company in online trust and security, and worked closely with Netscape to advance secure web technologies.

In 2005, Addison launched Fischer International Identity, LLC., delivering cloud-based identity governance and access solutions at a time when such capabilities were just emerging. His dedication to innovation and cybersecurity continues to drive progress, helping organizations stay secure in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
